Once he had bought my engagement ring, we went back to a jeweler to try and find out how much it would cost for the same ring, and the difference was thousands of dollars. Really.

Make sure you’re using a trusted site, do a little bit of research before you take the plunge and buy a ring. If you’re wanting to go the Ebay route - make sure you can get a GIA report on the stone before purchasing. On it brides sell the gifts and jewelery that was given to them by an ex boyfriend that they no longer want around the house. Many of it is true and genuine stuff that they’re willing to sell for cheap just to get the memory out of their house. It’s worth checking out.
