Creating a Honeymoon Video

Filed Under (Honeymoons) by Danielle on 07-14-2008

Creating a Honeymoon VideoYour honeymoon should be one of the best and most romantic vacations that you will ever take in your lifetime. It’s taken shortly after the wedding, and you’re both excited in the new love and life that you are starting together. Your honeymoon vacation isn’t like future vacations may have if you’re managing children and after you’ve been married for a long time. Right now it’s all about new experiences. So of course, your honeymoon vacation isn’t like other vacations you’ll take in the future, and you’ll want to be sure to document it for years to come and enjoy. So why not create a honeymoon video to help you document all the wonderful events and sights that you’ll see along the way? I’m not talking about some X-rated material that may show up to haunt you someday, but instead a type of documentary of your trip. Grab the camera and shoot the different sights you see and talk about how happy and excited you are to be there. Here are some great hints for creating a great honeymoon video you’ll enjoy for a long time to come.

Finding the Right Camera

If you don’t already have some kind of a video camera, be sure to start looking into the different kinds available to you long before you ever take your trip. Talk to friends and do some research about the best kind of camera that you can buy for your trip. Then, once you’ve made your decision, be sure to learn how to work the camera in advance, and maybe practice a bit to make sure you can work it correctly before you start creating your honeymoon video. Of course, always make sure to have lots of batteries, cords, chargers, DVDs, and any other extras you may need to help create your honeymoon video.

Creating a Honeymoon Video - Make it Personal

The last thing any of your friends or family will want to see is a lot of scenery with no people, no personality, and no talking. Taking video shots of scenery is great and you should definitely include it, but make sure that you include shots of the both of you, or one filming the other while you talk. Film the fun that you have together. Just as a quick example here, my husband and I took an excursion on our honeymoon that had us doing ziplines through the rain forest. We took photos of each other on the lines, but a video camera would have captured the whole thing, instead of the blurry photos we were left with.

Film the Romantic Moments on your Honeymoon Video

Keep in mind here that not everything romantic has to be X-rated. If you come back to your hotel room after a long day and find that the staff has left a large fruit tray and roses in your room, film it. If you and your husband find yourselves at a beautiful restaurant with a fantastic view, take a few moments to film it for your honeymoon video. Tell them where you are, how romantic it is, and take a shot of the view and of course show the camera how great your new husband/wife looks that evening. You don’t have to be filming 100% of the time to create a memorable honeymoon video. Just be sure to document everything you want to remember.

Benefits of a Honeymoon Video

Perhaps the best thing about creating a honeymoon video is that you can easily be reminded of all the fun you had, the sights you saw and the places that you visited with the push of a button. Watch it along with your wedding video on your anniversaries for an extra romantic touch. Another great benefit of creating a honeymoon video is that if you ever want to go on a second honeymoon to the same location, you can easily remember which resort you went to and the places you visited.

As I mentioned earlier, you don’t have to be filming 100% of the time to create a great honeymoon video that you both will treasure. Just be sure to have a camera on you all the time to be able to capture those spontaneous moments you’re sure to experience, fun times you’ll have, the views you’ll enjoy, and of course the romantic moments that help make your honeymoon one of the best and most romantic vacations you’ll ever take.
