Filed Under (Honeymoons) by Danielle on 07-07-2008
My husband and I go into Mexico several times per year. As native Texans, not only do we have the benefit of being so close to Mexico, but we’ve also come to love the people, the culture, and the great Mexican food that you can only find south of the border. We have some great missionary friends who live in Mexico, and our church takes mission trips to Monterrey every year as well. But that isn’t everything that we love about Mexico. My husband and I had a romantic honeymoon in Mexico which was really unforgettable. One thing you may not be aware of is that thousands of couples flock to this great country every year looking for a romantic honeymoon in Mexico. Mexico continues to be one of the leading favorites for honeymoon locations, and it’s not too hard to see why. Mexico has mountains, oceans, and towns that will charm and transport you to another time and place. Here are some great locations in Mexico to consider if you are planning a romantic honeymoon in Mexico.
Enjoying the Beach
When my husband and I were planning our honeymoon, we wanted a great location that wasn’t very expensive, wasn’t too crowded, and it had to be on the water. If this is the kind of romantic honeymoon in Mexico that you’re looking for, then you’re in luck. Mexico is known for it’s soft white sandy beaches, and clear bright blue waters off of the coast. There are many different towns along the coast of Mexico that are filled with beautiful resorts for vacationers. Soaking in the Culture
It’s true that while most couples choose some kind of beach setting for a romantic honeymoon in Mexico, many others would rather soak in the Mexican culture a little bit. So if you’re looking to view some of the sights and learn some of the Mexican culture. This could mean staying in a small village somewhere in Mexico, enjoying the cobblestoned colonial settings that will transport you in time. Finding a location like this in Mexico isn’t very difficult either. Some cities to consider are: San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Oaxaca, Taxco, and Cuernavaca.
Enjoying the Big City
While some couples just want to relax on the beach or enjoy a laid back honeymoon in a beautiful colonial Mexican town, others just want to party. For couples looking for a romantic honeymoon in Mexico who want to live it up and get in on some of the shopping, museums, and some of the exciting night life that Mexico has to offer, you’re in luck as well. Mexico City, Guadalajara, Mazatian and Acapulco are some beautiful and larger cities in Mexico that are great for couples looking for an exciting honeymoon.
