Filed Under (Engagement Rings) by Danielle on 20-08-2008

Vintage Engagement Rings - TimelessIn this day and times where the styles keep changing, and old styles keep coming back into style, the same trend tends to go for wedding rings as well. Vintage wedding rings are very popular with many couples, as they hold a certain charm and unique quality that many of the newer style of wedding rings just don’t have.  Personally, I wanted a ring that was unique from all of the other wedding rings that were out there. I don’t have a vintage engagement ring, but the style is such that it looks vintage, and I’ve never seen anyone with a wedding ring set that comes even close. So for couples like me, vintage wedding rings may be the way to go, since they offer a certain elegance, grace and skill from another time. So if the typical wedding and engagement rings just don’t hold any charm for you, here are some excellent ideas for finding some vintage engagement rings to find the ring that is perfect for you.

Family Heirlooms

Vintage engagement rings have a lot to offer if you want a ring that is both beautiful and meaningful, and like I was saying above, unique. Sometimes vintage engagement rings are passed down from generation to generation, and sometimes you have to go looking for them.

A Comfortable Men’s Wedding Band

Filed Under (Engagement Rings) by Danielle on 13-08-2008

My husband was a little worried when we started shopping for wedding bands for him. He was never much into jewelry, wearing his class ring occasionally only a few months before it disappeared somewhere into his belongings. He just doesn’t like to wear rings, doesn’t think that they are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Turns out, lot’s of men out there have the same kind of reservations about wearing a wedding band. They want to wear one as a symbol of the forever kind of love they have towards their wife, but are worried that it will constantly bother them. For all you guys out there, and future brides looking for wedding bands for those guys, you’re in luck. You can find a comfortable men’s wedding band if you know what to shop for. Men’s Wedding Bands - Oh the Possibilities!

Filed Under (Engagement Rings) by Danielle on 11-08-2008

Mens Wedding Rings - Oh the Possibilities! As I’ve mentioned before in previous articles, men’s wedding bands haven’t actually been around for that long. Traditionally, it was only the blushing brides who sported a sparkling wedding ring on their left hand, and not the grooms. But after the second World War, it started to be more in style for men to wear wedding rings as well. Jewelers, who probably started the trend in the first place, have jumped on the bandwagon full steam ahead. If you’ve done any looking for men’s wedding bands, I’m sure you’ve found that there is a huge variety of rings to choose from. Not just in design, but also in the type of metal the ring is made from, width sizes, and even color, many styles of men’s wedding bands are definitely out there to make a statement. Men’s wedding bands can be just as stylish and elegant as women’s wedding rings, or they can be masculine and durable, colorful and unique. So it makes sense that when you’re trying to choose the right one, it can be a little overwhelming. There are five main kinds of metal most popular to men’s wedding rings which should be considered when shopping for your wedding band. The rest is just details.

Titanium

Titanium is quickly becoming one of the most popular metals for men’s wedding bands. Titanium is the hardest natural metal in the world, and it’s real popular among men due to it’s increased durability.

Using a Diamond Broker

Filed Under (Engagement Rings) by Danielle on 06-08-2008

If you’re looking at the prices of diamond rings and are just staggered by the price, then you’re not alone. When my husband was looking at diamonds for my engagement ring, he was astounded at how much a local jeweler was charging for a mediocre diamond. He wanted to get me a near flawless diamond, and the prices in the jeweler’s shops was just too crazy. So, he did what he always did, and that is to find a better way. So, if you’re looking for some quality diamonds at a fraction of the cost, then why not look into finding a dependable diamond broker.

What is a Diamond Broker

A diamond broker is a person who sells diamonds at a fraction of the cost of local retailers.

Choose the Perfect Men’s Wedding Ring

Filed Under (Engagement Rings) by Danielle on 04-08-2008

Wedding rings are fun to shop for, at least, I think they are. You can visit lots of jewelry stores to see what they have available, try on some beautiful (and expensive) wedding rings, and even look for ideas for the perfect wedding rings on the Internet. A man’s wedding ring is a little bit different. Unless your man wants a fancy wedding ring with all the bells and whistles (white and yellow gold, gemstones, etc), it could be easy for you to put less of an emphasis on choosing the perfect men’s wedding ring for your future husband. Men’s wedding rings are relatively new for our country’s history. Men really didn’t start wearing wedding rings until after the second world war, and jewelers have worked really hard to create a fantastic line of men’s wedding rings. Before you choosing a wedding band for your groom, it may be best to answer these questions to ensure you get a wedding ring that is comfortable and one that he will wear for years to come.

How Active is your Lifestyle?

Before purchasing a wedding ring for your man, you want to consider what kind of lifestyle that he leads. If your husband works with his hands, doing some kind of manual labor or construction work, then a harder type of metal might be better for you than a softer metal.

Diamond Carat, Color and Cut

Filed Under (Engagement Rings) by Danielle on 01-08-2008

Diamond Carat, Color and CutIn my previous article, I mentioned that I wanted to explain just how diamonds are classified by the GIA. The different classification each diamond undergoes helps to determine just how much the diamond is actually worth, as well as to protect both the buyer of the diamond from getting a phony or a bad diamond at a good diamond’s cost. It’s good to know these things when you’re shopping for a diamond. I’m not saying that all diamond sellers are untrustworthy or out to swindle you out of your hard earned cash, not at all. I am saying though that once you’re looking at the diamonds, understanding their ratings will help you to understand if they are giving you a good price, and what ranges of classification you want for the diamond to buy.

There are four basic areas that professionals look at when they are inspecting a diamond to determine it’s grade. One of them, diamond clarity, is something that I discussed in greater detail in my previous article, What is a Diamond Clarity Scale? I was going to do an article on each of the other three classifications that a diamond is given, but have decided instead to simply cover the rest of them in this article.
